UniMC-KU Double Degree
The Department of Education, Cultural Heritage, and Tourism has signed a bilateral agreement with the Faculty of Business Administration and the Faculty of Mathematics and Geography at the Katholische Universität Eichstätt-Ingolstadt (KU) in Germany to establish a double-degree student exchange program.
The students selected to participate in the mobility study program will earn the following degrees:
- Laurea magistrale in “International Tourism and Destination Management” (LM-49);
- Master of Science (M.Sc.) in “Tourism and Sustainable Regional Development – Management and Geography”.
Program structure
The double-degree program is organized as follows:
During the first semester, double-degree students follow the curriculum at their home university.
During the second semester, KU double-degree students move to UniMC, studying the jointly specified modules, while UniMC double-degree students follow the curriculum at their home university.
During the third semester, double-degree students from the KU return to their home university, where they study according to the respective curriculum, while UniMC double-degree students move to KU to study the jointly specified modules.
During the fourth semester, double-degree students will be required to follow the curriculum at their home university and complete their master’s thesis. The master’s thesis must be supervised by two supervisors, one from each of the partner universities, and must be written in English.
Admission and selection procedures
The UniMC students enrolled into the study program “International Tourism and Destination Management” will be selected for the double-degree study program after a call for applications launched by the Department of Education, Cultural Heritage and Tourism. Both partners accept the admission rules at the other institution.
Every academic year, a maximum of 5 students from each university will be selected to participate in the program.
Double degree students have to pay all tuition and service fees at their home university.
However, at KU a fee per semester cannot be waived and shall be paid by each student. This fee is a contribution to the “Studentenwerk” and “Sozialwerk”, two bodies legally independent from KU. The “Sozialwerk/Studentenwerk” entitles the student to subsidized meals and other discounts and services. Upon consultation with KU, the fee amount is specified in the call for applications launched by UniMC every year.
