Degree Examination
Characteristics of the Final Examination
The final examination can take two different and alternative forms, as chosen by the student.
Presentation and discussion with the examining Committe:
- on a topic related to one of the subjects that characterize the student's educational path;
- on a project work closely linked to the internship undertaken by the student and aimed at demonstrating one or more practical applications of the knowledge acquired during the International, European and Comparative Legal Studies (IECoLS) program.
The presentation and discussion will be conducted in English.
Conducting the Final Examination
The student will select from the courses they have taken which one will be the subject of the final examination. They should contact the professor teaching that course well in advance to agree on the focus of the discussion during the degree examination. The subject chosen for the final examination cannot be a subject chosen as further elective activities (13 ECTS). Even if the final examination consists of a project work developed during the internship, the student must contact the professor of the related course they believe is most relevant to the project work's theme.
Once the topic or project work has been decided upon, and no later than thirty days before the start of the degree examination session in which they intend to defend their final work, the student must complete an online degree application from their personal area. The application must specify the chosen topic or project work theme.
The final examination consists of a brief presentation and discussion with the committee on the assigned topic. A written paper is not required. If the candidate is unable to take the final examination, the assigned topic will remain valid for subsequent sessions.

Graduation application
WARNING: The University activated a new online procedure to fill in the graduation applicationform. Select the item "Graduation application" from the dedicated menu in your online student services restricted area (http://studenti.unimc.it).
Moreover, we remind you that the student is exclusively responsible for checking the conformity of his/her Student Profile and notifying the Student Administration Office of any differences detected between the evaluation of exams on the paper Booklet and the online Booklet before applying for graduation.
Diploma parchment tax / virtual stamp duty: at the end of the procedure, two PagoPA payment notices will be generated: one for the payment of the diploma parchment (€71.38); and one for the virtual stamp duty on the graduation application (€16). The two payment notices can be downloaded under the Payments section of your restricted area and paid immediately, or else the Student Administration Office will not be able to confirm your graduation application. The payment receipts do not need to be handed to the student Administration Office.
The data inserted can be modified until the Student Administration Office confirms the graduation application after the online application deadline.
The guide for filling out the online application is available at the following link.
At the following link, you will find an example of the title page template to be used for the graduation thesis that must be uploaded as all other templates required within the deadline.
