Call for Papers - “Enpower the Future”: young ideas for a sustainable future

Are you studying at the University of Macerata and have a vision for a more sustainable world? This is your chance to put your ideas into play!

On the occasion of the Festival of Sustainable Development 2025 and Europe Day, the Department of Law promotes the workshop “Enpower the Future”, a unique event combining theory and practice, research and action, critical thinking and creativity.

The initiative is part of the European project ENPOWER - Empowering Local Communities through Sustainable Energy Transition and aims to build a new culture of urban and energy sustainability through the protagonism of students and dialogue between universities, institutions and territories.

🔍 Themes

The papers will be able to address - in Italian or English - themes such as:

• Sustainable innovation in university spaces
• Renewable energies and social justice
• Inclusion and accessibility in the cities of the future
• Ecological transition and local governance
• Education for sustainability and the active role of students
• Energy citizenship and participation
• Smart cities, data and digital tools for sustainability

📝 How to participate

Proposals for the presentation of a single unpublished paper, in Italian or in English, must

• Title of the paper
  Abstract (max 500 words)
  Short curriculum vitae of the author (max 100 words), with any experiences or interests in the field of the topics covered

🏆 An international opportunity

The three most deserving contributions will be rewarded with free participation in the international ENPOWER Summer School, on the topic of Energy Poverty, to be held in Leuven (Belgium) from 8 September 2025.
