The Course offers specialized theoretical, methodological and critical preparation in the linguistic-cultural field through the specific study of two languages and two literatures (at least one of which must be Euro-American), chosen from: Anglo-American, Arabic, Chinese, French, English, Russian, Spanish, German. The Course ensures high skills, encouraging confrontation with texts and paying special attention to literary translation and the different expressions of European and non-European civilizations.
The course is articulated in such a way as to address both critical-literary and linguistic-semiological issues, from a synchronic and diachronic perspective.
The didactic offer of the Course also allows access to the training paths for teaching foreign languages and Italian language for foreign students in secondary school.
The Course provides access to the 60cfu Training Pathways for the secondary school teaching qualification.
The Course offers agreements with schools, publishing houses, translation agencies and other institutions at which to carry out the curricular internship.
The Course offers numerous Erasmus+ agreements to enable students to carry out a period of study or internship abroad (62 percent of students acquire part of their credits at one of the partner sites, a figure higher than the regional and national average).

Graduates are prepared for the drafting of written texts in foreign languages of various specialized tenors; for editorial translation and critical review/evaluation of literary texts; for various forms of intercultural communication; for conducting research on language, on the relations between ancient and modern, Western and Eastern languages, on language varieties and language comparison, on the interactions between linguistics and ICT; to the creation of multilingual databases; to the preservation and enhancement of documents, books, digital content, archaeological, historical-artistic and cultural heritage, requiring high language skills and promoting international dissemination.
A natural outlet of the Course is identified with the teaching of foreign languages and literatures, and of Italian as a second language, in the secondary school, after the acquisition of the requirements required by the regulations in force (60CFU Training Pathway).
The degree makes it possible to compete for access to third level courses (PhD).
