Internship
Internships are vocational activities meant to put the theoretical teachings included in the study plans into practice.
Regulations
- CFUs granted for internships:
Indicated on the study plan of the degree course.
- Duration of the internship:
Each attributed CFU corresponds to 25 hours of practical activity within the hosting organisation.
- Organisational Didactic Director and didactic and academic tutors:
For each course of study, the current Class Council nominates an Organisational Didactic Director who acts as supervisor, coordinator between central offices and departments and monitors the relationships with businesses and organisations related to stages and internships.

- Didactic and Academic Tutor:
activities performed by students in the context of the intership are coordinated and monitored by the teachers of each degree course, as didactic and academic tutors.
The student can choose any teacher of the course of study as an academic tutor.
The weekly office hours are valid only during courses, while for the rest of the year, they take place every 2 weeks. Send an email to the professors to make an appointment.
- Choosing an organisation:
Each student, in accordance with his / her academic tutor, chooses the institution / company for the internship/stage, sets the educational goals and the details about how to carry out the activity.
The activation of an internship/stage is carried out through the subscription of a convention signed by the promoter (the University) and the hosting organisation (Institution/Business) and the compilation of the educational project (progetto formativo).
If the Institution/company chosen does not have an agreement with University of Macerata, students have to reach an agreement: AGREEMENT ACTIVATION.
The procedure: from activation to verbalization
For the management of the Internship / Stage each student relies on the support of the Office Courses and Internship which provides online a list of entities / affiliated companies, as well as a showcase of internships offered by entities / companies .
The activation procedure of the Internship / Stage is expressed through the signing of an agreement signed by the promoter ( University ) and the host organization ( Organization / Company ) and the compilation of a training project .

Validation of CFU for working activities, training activities or civilian services or volunteer activity or scientific, cultural, educational initiatives.
- Students who are currently doing or have done a work-experience or a civilian service o volunteer activity closely connected to their study plan can request a TOTAL OR PARTIAL TRANSFER (art. 8 of the general Regulation of internships).
- Students can request a PARTIAL CREDIT TRANSFER depending on the attendance at scientific, cultural, educational initiatives, up to a maximum of 2 CFU, (art. 8 of the general Regulation of internships).
The duration of recognized activities must be - at least in part – simultaneous with the student’s years of enrollment. For further information you can contact Senior-tutor of the Department.
Requested certificates:
-Credit request form (specify the course you are enrolled in and the Class to which it belongs)
-Certificates that attest your activity (e.g. contract, declaration of the employer, service certificate, etc)
The above mentioned certificates should be handed in to the Department Desk (ground floor), or sent by mail to: The Organisational Didactic Director for LM-49.
CFU RECOGNISATION (TOTAL/PARTIAL EXEMPTION) for employment, training or community service
Students who have carried out or are currently carrying out work activities that meet the aims of work placement activities may apply for recognition or partial award of CFUs by submitting an appropriate application to the Head of Education and Organisation.
