Established in 1965 as the Library of the Institute of Economics and Finance within the Faculty of Law, it became in 1993 the Library of the Department of Economic and Financial Institutions, following the creation of that Department.

In January 2005, it was reorganized as the Interdepartmental Library of Economics and, since Rector’s Decree No. 445 of August 2, 2012, it has been part of the Department of Economics and Law, providing essential support for teaching and research activities.

The Library holds approximately 22,000 monographs, 329 periodical titles, and two special collections, “Rossi-Ragazzi” and “Biblioteca Centrale”, which include rare and valuable materials.

Its holdings are organized into thematic sections: economic-historical, business and banking, statistical-mathematical, special collections, and periodicals.

The collection expands according to the scientific and teaching needs of the Department, with acquisitions focused on economic-historical, business, statistical-mathematical, marketing, and management disciplines.

The consultation area offers 110 study places (10 in the Reading Room and 100 in the Sbriccoli Room) and users can rely on staff assistance for access to collections, on-site consultation, and take a book home. The room, open throughout the day, is equipped with an anti-theft RFId system, a radio-frequency technology used for identifying and monitoring the library’s holdings.
